Student Dress Code

Dress code violations will be monitored per semester. Discipline will be issued on an accumulating cycle in increments of five.

The discipline policy for dress code violations is as follows:

  • 3 violations – parent contact

  • 5 violations – Detention

  • 10 violations - In School Suspension (ISS) and a Parent Conference

  • 15 violations - In School Suspension (ISS)

  • 20 dress code violations – Out of School Suspension (OSS) and a required parent conference

  • Note: Violations will start over at the beginning of a new semester

The administration reserves the right to modify this plan as necessary.

Student Dress Code Regulations

  • All clothing must be worn as manufacturer intended. Clothing should be clean and in good condition.

  • A student’s appearance should not distract others from the purpose of school or present a safety hazard to others.

  • Violations of the dress code will be treated as a Level I breach of conduct. Repeated violations will be considered Level II breach of conduct. A student will be required to change from the inappropriate clothing before returning to class.

  • The school reserves the right to interpret this policy and make decisions based on school and district guidelines. Please refer to the Learning newspaper for additional dress code guidelines.

  • No tight/loose/revealing clothing.

  • No tank tops.

  • No inappropriate images/phrases on clothing.

  • No sleepwear/pajamas.

  • Shorts, dresses and skirts must be appropriate in length. “Mid thigh”

  • Tights, leggings, or jeggings are allowed ONLY if the shirt is fingertip length.

  • No head coverings: hats/caps/toboggans/hoods/scarves/wave caps will not be worn in the school building.

  • Shoes should not have lights or wheels.

  • Flip-flops, slides, bedroom shoes, or shoes with cleats are not allowed.

  • Students’ face covering/mask cannot be a bandana, and it must not contain any inappropriate images/phrases.

  • Students who do not adhere to the dress code policy will be required to change or he/she will be subject to disciplinary actions.

  • Shredding and holes in pants/shorts must not be above the knee. If students have holes in their pants/shorts above the knee, they must wear leggings under it so that no skin is showing.


  • Gloves, costume items such as decorative headbands, wristbands, chains, bandanas, head coverings of any kind and sunglasses.

  • Tops and/or bottoms that are either excessively loose or too tight.
