Andrew Jackson Middle School is proud to virtually welcome Maggie Peikon from the American Hiking Society on March 24, 2025. Mrs. Peikon’s visit is part of a joint unit between the physical education classes and our visual arts teacher, Ms. Perkin’s on Hiking and Photography. Mrs. Peikon will be discussing hiking safety and sharing pictures and photography tips from America’s Trails.
The American Hiking Society has sent a box of hiking demonstration items to assist with this hiking unit and inspire students. During the unit, students will be applying their knowledge of art principles as they take photography while on their hikes on the AJMS campus. We are very thankful for the generosity of the American Hiking Society, headquartered in Silver Spring, MD for being a part of this hiking arts integration unit.
