AJMS earns Distinguished Arts Program Grant

Designation as a Distinguished Arts Program Grant is achieved through a rigorous and competitive grant process.

Kershaw, SC – Andrew Jackson Middle School has received the 2025-26 Distinguished Arts Program Grant from the South Carolina Department of Education.  The DAP grant is an Arts Curricular Innovation Grant (ACIG) to assist schools in developing and implementing arts initiatives that support quality, comprehensive, and sequential arts education programs.

The initiative for the grant is to “Collaborating and Making New” and bring students' artistic work in the process of making new Art.  The grant will help to develop outreach opportunities, purchase classroom and instructional materials, as well as bring a guest artist to work directly with Band students. Over the past several years, Andrew Jackson Middle School has consistently been awarded grants such as the DAP for innovative and embedded curriculum focusing on the Arts.
