
Students ages 11-13, Alpha Kappa Alpha is hosting a YLI Kickoff Fest on June 7, 2025 from 11-2 at 122 S. Market Street, Lancaster.


Wednesday is awards day and 8th grade promotion. The 6th grade awards program begins at 8:45am in the VPAC, the 7th grade awards program begins at 10:00am in the middle school gym, and the 8th grade promotion ceremony begins at 6:00pm in the VPAC. Please note that metal detectors will be in use and the clear bag policy applies to all three events.
Thursday and Friday are half days for students. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 on both of these days. This is a reminder that all medication in the nurse's office must be picked up by an adult by Friday, May 30th at 11:30 am. Any medication that is left will be disposed of.
Any rising 7th grader that has not received their TDap immunization for 7th grade needs to take care of that before August. If your student will be needing medication at school next school year please let Nurse Reeves know and she will get you the paperwork you need.
Reminder - overdue notices have been given to students. Books that have been damaged or lost will need to be paid for before the last day of school.
We have a few remaining yearbooks available for purchase. Students are able to bring $35 cash with exact change to purchase a yearbook beginning on Wednesday. These yearbooks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.


Schools and offices will be closed Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.

Tuesday is the math exam for all students, including the Algebra 1 end-of-course exam. Students will also take social studies exams on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s exams are ELA and science.
Thursday will be the A day encore exams. Also on Thursday, AJMS Chorus will present the Spring Concert and Awards Ceremony at 6:30 pm.
Friday will be the B day encore exams. Alos on Friday will be the AJMS dance concert at 6:30pm.
Please remind your child to charge his/her chromebook each evening. It is vital that all students are present and on-time to school each day. In addition, please remind your child that electronic devices such as cell phones and Smart watches must be powered off and placed in backpacks during exams.
We will be taking up Chromebooks and chargers for all grades this year. Please make sure your student has both their Chromebook and charger with them next week 5/22 and 5/23.

Encore Choice Surveys Now Open for Rising 7th and 8th Graders
Parents of rising 7th and 8th grade students, Encore choice surveys for next school year are now available on our school website under the Announcements section. These surveys are required if your student would like to participate in Band and/or Chorus class next year. Please complete the survey at home with your student so that you are in agreement with their choices and provide consent. Surveys are due by May 16th.

Monday, April 28th is the last day to purchase a ticket for the 8th Grade Formal. Cost for a ticket is $10. The formal is this Saturday, May 3, from 5:00 -7:00 in the AJMS cafeteria.

Spring pictures will be taken on Wednesday, April 16th in the AJMS Library. Order forms for spring pictures were sent home with students last week.
MAP testing will take place on Tuesday and Thursday during homeroom. It is important that students are prepared with a fully charged Chromebook. Please have students to school on time and avoid scheduling appointments those mornings.
